MARKO STAMATOVIĆ

Serbia

Info

“I see myself as a documentary photographer first and foremost since it is my greatest love. I love working with people and documenting good stories. I am, however, very curious as a person and I like tinkering with every type of photography. Sometimes I fear that I may lack focus, however, with every experiment I pick up a new trick that seems to become a part of one great whole.

As for the future, I would like to see myself as a man content with his work and without regrets for not trying something.”

LAURENT RINGEVAL

Info

“This project is about urban and human exploration, body language and introspection.”

EKATERINA BOURINDINE

Israel

Info

“I thought that I never remembered anything from those last moments, where I was asked to part from my family and friends and just pick up and leave. Leave without looking back, with an expectation for a better future.”

RUSS ROWLAND

United States

Info

I used to think I loved photographing snow. But over the years I’ve come to realize it’s really snowstorms that I love, particularly after dark. The more snow forecast, the more excited I get. The city never seems more magical, no matter how late the hour or how far I walk. All the normal rules and logic of city life are blown aside, and all the imperfections are blanketed, abstracted or rendered anew.

BEN KILB

Germany

Info

„I grew up in the Taunus Mountains, about 30 miles off South Western Germany’s Rhein-Main area with its metropolis Frankfurt. Neighboring Offenbach was called a dark valley by mountain folks. You would not go there unless you really needed to.“

MICHAL KONRAD

Poland

Info

“You can go to the other side, or change the state of consciousness. You can find the secret window through which we will enter a new dimension. You can also convert, fall and get up. The transition can be difficult, sometimes painful. Sometimes, it is risky. Followed by impulse, or is planned. Sometimes it is the result of the search, or randomness. It also happens that it proves impossible.”

ŽILVINAS

Lithuania

Info

“The final results are completely unpredictable and you can’t really atecipate how the images will come out. The paper inside the camera register the image with strange colours and abstract elements, probably resulting from different weather conditions during the time the cameras are left. In order to get more different effects, I use a variaty of photograhic papers such as Ilford and Unibrom, and the exposures will go from six hours up to six months. My influence in the final work is little as I leave the nature doing most of the work.”

SIMON PARMEGGIANI

United Kingdom

Info

“Behind-the-scenes shots of the Alternative Hair Show, Royal Albert Hall (London).

I’ve always been fascinated by the idea of showing what’s not featured on stage, what’s behind the curtains.

I’m not interested in what everyone is rushing to see.

I’ve always been more attracted by what’s happening on the side.”

MOHD AZLAN MOHD LATIB

Malaysia

Info

“I shape my vision in a transcendent one, consisting of the more elegant aspects of chaos, order, time and space, perspective, impression, projection, juxtaposition, orientation, frames within frames, structure, morphology, atmosphere, aura and, simply, appearance, with its random associations.”

ANNE SILVER

France

I seek the sacred in connections. Some are tangible, I hold them in my hands; some not, being made of ideas and ether. In sacred moments, a sense of grace pervades. I am at once more deeply in tune with my core self than ever, and yet I am aware of how tiny all of life is, how fragile, how ephemeral. I marvel at the passage of time and those beings who live longer than the span of a human life. I am equally in awe of those tiny beings whose lives are over in the blink of my eye. All living things have consciousness and intelligence. Theirs is no less viable than mine, even though it may be of shorter duration.

ANDREA CALANDRA

Italy

Info

“This is my recent work about a Masai community, where I went to live for 15 days to realize this story. To prepare this series, I spent two years, from the start, finding a virgin community, to the end—including the logistic aspects of this self-produced work.”

FRANCESCO SAMBATI

Italy

Info

“My early work, trying to tell of my South (South Italy, Puglia, precisely), the land where I live, a land surrounded by the sea, which is normally associated with sunshine, joy, a welcoming land that seems to forget the passing of time. Indeed this is true, but under the surface there is a layer that only those who grew up here can grasp.”
